Deeds Comes Clean on Gay Marriage Stance

During an online interview with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, State Senator and Democrat candidate for Governor, R. Creigh Deeds admitted that he would not overturn Virginia’s Marriage Amendment.  Deeds said, “This [gay marriage] will not be a priority in four years.”

Virginia passed the Marriage Amendment in 2006, which declares that “marriage is between one man and one woman.”  The voters came out overwhelmingly in support for the amendment.

Could this be contradictory of his statements prior to this interview?
