We are still a little over a week out from election day, but it appears that some in the Obama administration have given up on Creigh Deeds.
Here is the lede from an article in today’s Post:
Sensing that victory in the race for Virginia governor is slipping away, Democrats at the national level are laying the groundwork to blame a loss in a key swing state on a weak candidate who ran a poor campaign that failed to fully embrace President Obama until days before the election.
There will be enough blame to go around when the election is over. I think Dems should blame the Washington Post. It was their endorsement that likely propelled him to victory in the primary. And while the Post has attempted to shore up the Deeds campaign by trying to torpedo McDonnell, they just didn’t have a lot to work with.
